EAA Chapter 108
Fort Walton Beach, FL

Young Eagles

Young Eagles is an national EAA program to introduce young persons to the world of aviation and provide their first airplane ride free of charge.  Chapter 108 is actively looking for young persons to participate in this program and would like to hear from any youth or youth organizations that would be interested in free airplane rides.  For more information about the Experimental Aircraft Association's Young Eagles Program, see their web site

Youth participating in the program receive a Young Eagles certificate and have their name entered in the World's Largest Logbook at EAA Headquaters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  They often are able to ham it up a bit with their pilot and have a photo taken with the aircraft they flew in as well.

If you're interested in a free Young Eagles plane ride, contact Mike Scroggins by phone at (850) 217-2731.

Next Scheduled Young Eagles Event - expect late summer/early fall

20 October 2007 - Crestview FL (KCEW) Yet another huge success! We flew 76 youths today and an untold number of adults who accompanied them. The weather was clear, blue skies and calm (relatively!) winds allowed for numerous flawless landings on the shortened runway. A great experience for everyone, and hopefully there will be a repeat in Spring '08! Check back here for the exact date once it gets a little closer.
